PIECE OF ($40,000) CAKE!

The piece of cake from Princess Diana'a Wedding will go up for auction today, and is expected to sell for $40,000!  The 27 year old piece of cake from PRINCESS DIANA and PRINCE CHARLES' 1981 wedding will be auctioned off in England . It seems crazy that someone would pay so much for a stale piece of cake . . . but it's not unheard of.  In 1998, a guy named Benjamin Yim bought a similar slice of cake from Charles and Diana's wedding . . . for $28,600.

REGENERATION TIME
IS ALMOST HERE!

The REGENERATION TOUR
Thursday August 28

featuring The Human League, Belinda Carlisle, A Flock of Seagulls, ABC and Naked Eyes

CLICK HERE TO GET YOUR TICKETS!

If you’ve never been to a concert at the N’Telos Wireless Pavilion – or you’ve never sat on the Pavilion lawn keep in mind that while their lawn tickets may be a GREAT deal – that doesn’t mean they’re not great seats! Unlike other amphitheatres where you have to bring binoculars or look at the TV screen to see what’s happening on stage, the Pavilion has a smaller, more intimate seating arrangement which means the lawn is MUCH closer to the stage. You can get up and dance, lay back on the grass, and enjoy the great breeze off the water while seeing the stage from a great vantage point. Not to mention the fact THE LAWN IS WHERE THE PARTY’S AT!

Get your tickets now – it’s gonna be a great show!

BACK TO SCHOOL!
Some kids start this week others begin next week. I remember what an exciting time this was for me especially back in elementary school. However, not being the greatest student in the world returning to Junior High and High School was not nearly as appealing. My downturn in interest towards my educational experience seemed to coincide with when my teachers started giving out grades for my work and it was all downhill from there! Why couldn’t we just stick with finger painting!

Whether your kids returning to school makes them feel exhilarated or nauseous, be sure to keep the continuous soft rock on 2WD playing while they’re getting ready – and of course in the car if they are getting a ride. 2WD’s great songs and Mark McCarthy’s soothing voice will reduce their stress level and help them focus.

Come on (COUGH) Down!
On the few occasions I stayed home sick from school I recall the best part of staying at home was being able to watch THE PRICE IS RIGHT with Bob Barker. There’s a “comfort food” quality about that show that always made me happy. To be honest I haven’t seen the new version with Drew Carey, but apparently it’s popularity is still strong.

Recently AOL TV threw together a list of The Top Game Shows of All Time . . . their dozen best are below. How do their picks compare with your favorites?

#12.)  "Family Feud"  (1976 - present)

#11.)  "The Dating Game"  (1965 - 2000)

#10.)  "Hollywood Squares"  (1966 - 2004)
#9.)  "Twenty One"  (1956 - 2001)

#8.)  "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire"  (1999 - present)

#7.)  "The Newlywed Game"  (1966 - 2000)
#6.)  "Match Game"  (1962 - 1999)
#5.)  "Let's Make a Deal"  (1963 - 2003)
#4.)  "What's My Line?"  (1950 - 1975)
#3.)  "Wheel of Fortune"  (1975 - present)
#2.)  "Jeopardy!"  (1964 - present)
#1.)  "The Price is Right"  (1956 - present)

Flesh Eating Fish
Invade Hampton Roads!

Have you heard about the "fish pedicure" spa treatment? I've never tried it but apparently you stick your feet into a tank while little carp fish nibble away at the dead skin on your feet. Yes it sounds a bit freaky and odd - but those who have tried it claim their feet are left smooth and supple. Oh, and of course there’s an added bonus for the spa owner since they save a bundle on fish food!   Mmmmmm….feet.

Olympic Fever!

I have a tough time committing to a regular TV show because it requires such a major investment of time. That’s why I'm digging the Olympics on TV. They’re on pretty much all the time so you can watch whenever you want and you don’t need all kinds of background  to figure out what’s happening.  Friends have suggested I get a TIVO or DVR so I can watch my favorite shows whenever I want – a good idea I'm just worried with something like I may end up quitting my job to watch TV full-time.  If you do hear of any positions like that please let me know – because I'd certainly be willing to give it a shot.

Insecure?

If you listen to Ken Carson in the afternoon you’ve probably heard me talking about this really cool INGRID Home Security system I’ve installed. Ingrid really is a very cool system because it can cover ALL your doors and windows – which means you don’t need motion detectors or weight sensors inside your home (which is essential if you have pets like I do) INGRID connects to the outside would through your broadband Internet connection AND the telephone AND through a cellular connection as well. This means even if your phone line and Internet are not working the authorities can still be contacted. You can even set it up to notify the authorities through a neighbor’s phone! And the whole thing works wirelessly so installation is fast and easy! Check out INGRID for yourself at http://www.ingridforme.com

Kennyoake Dokie!

Kennyoake is sweeping Hampton Roads! Every time we break out the Kennyoake stage more and more listeners are picking up the microphone to belt out their favorite songs! If you’re not sure what Kennyoake is – it’s KINDA like karaoke; only no one sings the whole song – just about a minute of it. At last week’s Journey show we had about TWENTY listeners entertain the waiting concert crowd for free tickets to our DISASTER MOVIE advance screening next week.   Kennyoake Fever is gripping the region – look for it at your favorite 2WD events!
